The Indonesian Student Association of Texas A&M

 

 

The Indonesian Student Association of Texas A&M, also known as PERMIAS in Bahasa Indonesia, was established in July 1980 with the specific goal to accomodate the Indonesian students residing in the city of Bryan/College Station, Texas, specifically, students of Texas A&M University.

 

The main purpose of this organization is to build unity and fellowship among Indonesian students and residents in this area. Furthermore, Indonesian students constructed this organization to promote Indonesia as their country and nation as a whole.

Education and social awareness is crucial in creating respectful, well-rounded, and critical thinking, future Indonesian leaders. Therefore, we arrange several events where our members are free to express their beliefs, opinions, and share their knowledge to one another.

Brazos Valley Worldfest, where various countries around the world exhibit their culture, has long been a place for ISA TAMU chapter to introduce Indonesia and its cultural identity to the general public in the Brazos County. Through cultural ornaments, interactive traditional games, as well as unique and delicious Indonesian traditional foods. Indonesian booths managed by ISA TAMU chapter always manage to attract the attention of visitors every year.
